How to distinguish imbalance from other vibration causes and prepare a motor for balancing.
How to perform the work
- Before measuring, rule out loose fasteners, play, and coupling damage.
- Compare vibration at several points on the housing.
- When imbalance is confirmed, balance in one or two planes.
Important. Balancing does not replace bearing diagnostics or alignment. Eliminate mechanical defects before applying a correction weight.
